About Copper & Torch

Lindsay Troutman is the creative mind and pair of soldering hands behind Copper & Torch. Finding herself and her family in a tight financial spot back in 2013, and needing a gift to bring to a party, she took a piece of broken picture frame glass and soldered a water tight glass terrarium vase out of it. Someone requested a custom one after that, and then word got around about these minimal, well constructed little planters for the wall or windowsill! After 3 months, she has sold about a hundred and stores began carrying her work. The line grew, a website was launched and the rest is history. Lindsay has been working with glass for more than half her life. She loves taking something ordinary and flat and shaping it into something functional and beautiful. Her mission is to preserve beautiful specimens such as old lace, botanicals and papers in glass as an Archive of the past in a clean, minimal and modern way using traditional stained glass processes.
