Hello, I am Tony, founder of Motto Medallions! I was born and raised in Queens, New York, and I like to travel, read history, and taste wine from around the world. I have worked as a secondary education teacher with a graduate degree in history. I was inspired to create this project after a discussion I had with a friend. I offered words of encouragement to my friend because he and his family were going through hardships during this crazy time. However, after our meeting I had a feeling that what I said was not supportive enough, considering the fact that advice that one gives is easily forgotten. What I wanted to provide him is a little extra support by providing something tangible and visible like a medallion. A token of strength and hope that can be carried with you at all times. The designs and mottos for the medallions are largely derived from the study of Greco-Roman history.
