About FOREST + FAUNA

Forest + Fauna is a nature-inspired studio creating handcrafted wooden goods rooted in care, craftsmanship, and a deep connection to the natural world. Founded by Ontario-based sculptor and woodworker Michelle duQuesnay, the studio brings together traditional hand skills and thoughtful design to create pieces that are both beautiful and purposeful. Each item is made in small batches using responsibly and locally sourced, as well as reclaimed, woods—allowing the natural character of the material to remain central to the story. Plant-based, food-safe finishes are used throughout, with a commitment to avoiding plastics, chemicals, and petroleum by-products, like mineral oil. Forest + Fauna is guided by the belief that time is an ingredient. Slowness, intention, and respect for material shape every step of the process, resulting in objects designed for daily use and long lives. From kitchen and dining tools to jewellery, the work reflects a desire to live more harmoniously with nature. A portion of each sale is donated to environmental organizations supporting conservation and biodiversity.
