About Love Lettering

Doris Wai is an illustration graduate of the OCADU in Toronto, but what she loves to draw most, is letters. She is a published author with her book Extraordinary Hand Lettering, teaches lettering workshops, and dabbles on YouTube with her channel, The Lettering Lifestyle. An obsession since childhood, she found it fascinating that each typeface/font could give a different feeling and the development of custom lettering made her love the art of hand lettering even more. Since 2014, she started her business dedicated to her passion of lettering to the events industry, for businesses in terms of branding/logos/packaging, and creating products she felt were missing from the market focusing on lettering tools, stationery and accessories with the common thread of beautiful lettering. Her biggest and unique adventure are her Posecards™® a cross between a photo prop and greeting card that is good for all occasions and selfies. Seeing an absence of stylized photo props in the market, Doris developed a unique hand lettered approach to her photo props that give a beautiful vintage look for a modern day world. When she is not working/planning/planning to work, she enjoys time with her daughter, husband and mini schnauzer, movie popcorn, travelling and a good bowl of ramen with friends. Read their story
