About the Founder Eco Nuts was founded by actor Scott Shields in 2009 to bring eco friendly cleaning products to the marketplace in recyclable packaging and was made famous after appearing on Shark Tank. The idea for Eco Nuts came when Scott was shooting Pirates of the Caribbean and filming was interrupted by a discarded plastic detergent bottle trash in the ocean which ruined the shot. He wanted to create a company where customers could feel good about the products they were buying and where he could actually make a difference by reducing plastic consumption. He called the company “Eco Nuts” as a play on words – it’s both a description for soap berries which look like acorns as well as a name for someone crazy about the environment. Eco Nuts products are 100% nuts safe too as they are a berry.
