About higarden

Over the last 25 years former owner Harriet turned Foxgloves into a global cult product. With a reputation for long-sleeves & high quality. Harriet’s work lives on as a modern gardenwear brand, higarden. Here's how it happened... "These gloves were my ticket back into the garden." Two trips to the urgent care with severe poison ivy turned the wonder I had for my Hudson Valley garden into stress and fear. I couldn't shake the fear of accidental exposure (for a third time). It kept me inside for months. I needed gardening gloves that did a better job of keeping my skin covered. Not gloves that were stiff, landfill fodder, and stopped at the wrist. Not ones that overcorrected with bulk suited for climbing mountains instead of sowing lettuce. Then I finally found them: they fit to the form of my gangly limbs, felt really good on my skin, and I constantly forgot I had them on. Gardeners will get it: we take gloves off for everything (then forget to put them back on?). Of course these gloves were made by someone who gets gardening—a local horticulturalist. I got giddy, wrote her fan mail, and met up with her for lunch. Before we could toast to continued success, she told me that she planned to retire and close the business. Reflexively I shouted, 'Can I buy it!' The struggle to find reliable gardening protection had sucked. Now, I'm lucky that I get to share it far and wide as higarden. Not only the actual gloves—the sure feeling that it's safe to bliss out in your garden.
