A Study of Birds for the Home" is Aviologie's compelling range of decorative wooden Birds, Feathers and Eggs. All Handcrafted, Distinctive Designs, that are Fairly traded. Derived from a meeting between western aesthetics and indigenous folk art the pieces equally at home in many settings rustic, classic or modern (as varied as your friends and family) ! Working closely and supporting three carving families in Salatiga, together they draw on centuries old techniques to realize beautiful products. Truly generational artisans their quality of execution and close attention to our details sets them apart in a land renowned for hand crafts. Using Albesia and Coffee wood, these fast growing timbers come from sustainable farming practices allowing for continued harvest and regrowth. They are beautifully hand painted and finished with a light wax to produce a subtle sheen that completes each piece and says “well made and well finished”. Read their story
