About Chez Louie Designs

Hi, I’m Jess—the artist behind Chez Louie Designs, a business affectionately named after my cat Louie (he shares the spotlight now with Henry, his little bro). This little shop started in 2020 as a creative experiment during the pandemic, and it's growth since then has launched me into my entrepreneurial era. I'm a self-taught artist, and I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember. My interest for digital illustration started as a teenager, and I've spent over 15 years learning and experimenting with all kinds of digital illustration software and hardware. These days, I love to use my iPad and the Procreate app. Everything is created in my home studio in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada — from the first sketch to final render. My work is heavily inspired by pop culture, everyday moments, bold colours, and my love of animals (cats especially). You will see that many designs portray messages about advocacy, self-love, and the woes of mental health, often with a dose of humour or a playful twist. Chez Louie Designs is more than just a business—it’s both a creative outlet and a way to connect with people through art. Whether it’s a custom pet portrait, a sweary sticker that makes someone laugh, or a design that says exactly what someone needed, I strive to make things that feel meaningful. Thanks for being here!
