About Dawlcakes

Founded in the West Village, Dawlcakes is the go-to doll cake dessert in New York City and the Hamptons. Notable people who have received Dawlcakes include Whoopi Goldberg, Christian Siriano, Ina Garten, Deborah Cox, Jenny Mollen, Jason Biggs, and Sophie Turner. Now, you can bring Dawlcakes into your own kitchen with the Decorating Kit! Whether you had a doll cake as a child or always wanted one, Dawlcakes is in the wish fulfillment business for kids and grown-ups. It's also a frustration-free way to teach kids about baking and decorating, without the mess. History of Dawlcakes In 2023, founder and baker Joanne Spataro began Dawlcakes to simply entertain her then three-year-old daughter at family birthdays and celebrations. Her first Dawlcakes pop-up event garnered the attention of actress Sophie Turner. Soon, Joanne was popping up all over Manhattan and the Hamptons. At the Hamptons Interactive Brunch this past June, Joanne presented a custom-molded lookalike Dawlcake to entertainer Deborah Cox, garnering attention from Getty Images and media outlets including Hamptons magazine. Dawlcakes has also been featured on The View, where Whoopi Goldberg showcased her “Sister Act” Dawlcake for her 68th birthday celebration. Dawlcakes was named one of Whoopi’s Favorite Things. Joanne’s goal is to spark a conversation and invite people to share their childhood memories of their own Dawlcakes.
