About Young Gentry

Founded by sisters Scarlett & Meg, Young Gentry was named for the next generation. From our clean-burning soy-based candles to our ‘local first’ sourcing philosophy, every decision we make at Y/G is with the next generation in mind. We believe in being part of an Economy of Goodness and donate one meal for every candle or essential oil purchased. Our hope is to fill a million happy bellies in the US by 2025. Launched out of Scarlett’s home studio in Atlanta, Georgia, we began selling our hand-poured candles in person at local pop-ups and community events. We launched our blog around the same time and have grown an obsessed (in a good way) fan base across the US and beyond. The Young Gentry obsessed have sent us pictures of themselves enjoying Y/G moments of calm with our beautiful candles from as far away as London & Versailles. One of our proudest candle-nerd moments was when Chef Hsu, founder of Atlanta’s newest ‘impossible rezzie’ restaurant Lazy Betty fell in love with Scent No 1 from our Apothecary line and invited us to his restaurant to scent the space. We about fell over.
