About Folle Envie

“Inspired by an old recipe from Zilda, a caring and outgoing woman, Folle Envie was a drink for her customers, those in the village and neighboring villages, on Saturdays when her grocery became a refreshment bar. Brave... because on Saturday, it was the grocery store's supplies: in the middle of the night, she then harnessed her horse to her cart, to which she put on socks on her hooves in winter, and crossed the woods for 20 km to reach, from 5 am, the market. And upon her return, to end this long day, Zilda served a few glasses of Folle Envie for the neighborhood who loved to come and chat with her so much, or gather her advice... Tolerance and common sense made her the perfect confidante. And I, 80 years later, had a crazy desire to revive this aperitif, quite simply as a tribute to Zilda, the one who loved life so much, the real one, the one we share.
