Carolanne Riberdy created Kawelä in September of 2018, with the launch of her first product, the Kawelä beach towel. She reinvented the commercial beach towel to solve all the problems they had. Kawelä's goal was to completely reinvented the beach towel to make it sand-free, extra large, but compact, quick-drying and super absorbent. The waffle microfiber technology they’ve chosen was a totally new fabric never seen before in America. It’s not at all what you see elsewhere. They are more comfortable and 3 times more absorbent. Plus, all the drawings are handmade by local artists! The outcome of the product was so good that they also created ponchos for adults, for kids, bath towels, picnic blankets, active towels and more!
