This was expressed in a love for barbecuing, but this love really got a huge boost after I founded the Elckerlijc restaurant in '96 together with another avid barbecue enthusiast. After that, everything went upstream. I wrote the first Dutch book ever about barbecuing 'Contemporary Barbecuing' and won the World Barbecue Championship in Jamaica. From that moment on, I knew that I wanted to help others turn from a home cook into a true master chef. I always say, “A good cook is an artist, but not every artist is a good cook.” You really have to be an artist in the kitchen to create a good plate. In my opinion, a tasteful cuisine is the basis of success. And how can you create better taste than by working with quality seasonings such as herbs and spices? That's why I founded ElDurapi. Eldur means fire in Icelandic and Api is the Malay word for fire. The ElDurapi logo also stands for fire again, only in Japanese. Of course, a sparkling brand comes with sparkling products, which is why with ElDurapi we go for a typical smell and taste of fire in each ingredient. Read their story
