Maison Affable was born from a love of drawing and painting in joyful, beautiful colour combinations, French food culture, cooking and, above all, the pleasure of hosting and letting conversations flow around a table. The name Maison Affable comes from the French word “affable”, describing someone who is warm, friendly and easy to talk to. It reflects the spirit behind the brand: generous, welcoming and never too serious. Founded by Astrid Riglet, a French-Swedish designer based in Stockholm, Maison Affable brings together French heritage with a Scandinavian eye for design, simplicity and quality. Each collection begins with Astrid’s hand-drawn illustrations and is inspired by people, places, memories and the small details that make a meal memorable. The first collection, Loulou, is a tribute to Astrid’s brother Louis, a baker in Bordeaux. Inspired by his joyful and generous personality, and by the early mornings of a French bakery, fresh bread, croissants, coffee and the first light of day, the collection celebrates the simple pleasure of breakfast and savouring a slow morning. Maison Affable creates poetic porcelain for memorable moments: playful yet refined pieces designed to be used, shared and enjoyed. Produced in small series in Portugal, our porcelain combines delicate, elegant lines with the durability to be used and enjoyed for years to come.
