My passion for good BBQ started when I wandered into a humble hole-in-the wall in downtown Kansas City as a college kid looking for a satisfying meal on a meager budget and a little reprieve from the daily grind. As I sat, enjoying the amazing food that came out of the tiny kitchen, I soon realized that for that moment, life's stresses melted away and I was able to simply experience the flavors of the food that had no doubt been thought out so carefully and precisely. Pretty soon, my free time was devoted to figuring out the mysterious art of cooking low and slow with nothing but smoke, fire, and time. The concept behind Da-Ham Good BBQ came about through years of spending time in the kitchen, experimenting with recipes from favorite places and recreating memories of dishes from our childhoods.
