About Kerri Brewer Studio

Kerri Brewer is a ceramicist working in Brooklyn, NY. A classically trained artist, who has had a successful career as a commercial photographer, these days, she is back to her roots with her hands in clay. Growing up, she was first introduced to potting by her grandmother and passed many a day helping her slipcast, glaze, load and unload the kiln. An experimenter at heart, she creates small batches of functional work - sometimes handbuilding, sometimes at the wheel; mostly electric but also reduction firing. You'll see one of a kind pieces alongside forms she returns to again and again. She often practices the ancient art of sgraffito creating beautifully unique painted and textured irreplicable. Hers are delightful pieces that are meant to a treasured moment in the day. Her work has been featured in the New York Times and DesignMilk Gift Guides, Many of her pieces are cornerstones in the NYTCooking prop collection and has been seen in Domino magazine, Hypebeast and various other publications. She has made commission for stylists, Don Julio, Cesar dog food, and her work also graces the tables of some of New York’s finest restaurants.
