Sally J Goodrich uses acrylic paint to create colorful, sometimes, serene, sometimes lively landscapes and florals. Inspired by the beautiful blue ridge mountains of the Roanoke Valley and many summers spent in the Black Mountains of Asheville, NC, her landscapes are lush, vibrant and friendly. She loves to represent the beauty and every changing colors of even the most plain outstretched field. Her florals consist of familiar flowers usually in ginger jars, painted with blue chinoiserie figures. She takes ample liberties with color and tries to create her best impressionist/fauve or fauve/impressionist style of work. Hydrangeas are her favorite but all native flowers (and a few imagined) can make an appearance in these lush loose arrangements. Between the skies, the mountains, the plant life and the fields she is never at a loss for inspiration.Read their story
