About Queen of Hearts

Queen of Hearts started from a personal experience with cancer that inspired founder Tonia Farman to dive into the food system and be a part of making it better. Recognizing that dressings and marinades are #2 only to energy drinks for inflammatory products disguised as "healthy," I was on a mission to make a better-for-you line of dressings and nutritional oils that would challenge traditional dressings and the traditional agriculture on which they are dependent. We produce our dressings and oils in The Dalles, Oregon, in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge. We refuse to use the inflammatory ingredients typically found in dressings (chemical and heat-processed seed oils like soybean oil and canola, sugar, petroleum-based vinegars, preservatives), and instead focus on using whole, real ingredients like fresh citrus, omega-rich cold-pressed oils, organic raw vinegars, fresh herbs and intentionally-sourced spices, nutrient-dense hemp seeds, and zero sugar, soy or dairy. My family made PNW-grown pickles for half of the 20th century (Farman's Pickles) in Kent, WA. When my grandfather (dubbed "The Pickle King") died, and many years later I decided to start a food business, I wanted to continue the legacy but I felt it was time for a "queen". The hempseed (or "heart") is at the heart of everything we make, hence the name "Queen of Hearts." Read their story
