About Clare Butler Ceramics

Clare Butler Ceramics is dedicated to the value of handmade work, natural materials and sustainable craft. I began as a potter over 20 years ago and stopped working in clay when I had children. I returned to ceamics last year and only realised when I started making again how much I had missed it- I love creating each and every piece of jewellery I make and the excitement of opening a glaze kiln still makes me giddy! The earthy greens, blues and turquoises of the Wild Atlantic Way are at the heart of my work. I aim for a calming organic aesthetic that resonates with sea lovers and those drawn to natural materials. Sustainability is important to me and is considered at every stage of production; All product packaging is plastic free, and either made from recyclable, compostable or recycled materials. All packaging for wholesale or posted orders is repurposed packaging which would otherwise have gone to landfill. Any unused packaging would be gladly welcomed back to us for re-use. Offcuts and waste clay are recycled and reused. Read their story
