About The Tray Shop

The Tray Shop is a Sydney-based business co-founded by Rick and his mum. We sell handcrafted birchwood trays from Sweden, featuring designs by Australian and international independent artists. Our range comes in two finishes. The printed paper trays are food-safe and dishwasher-proof, with designs including Bird of Paradise, Monstera, Wattle, and Australian native flowers. The fabric trays have designs embedded into the birchwood surface, are food-safe and wipe clean, and each one comes out slightly different. We started The Tray Shop because we loved these trays and wanted to bring them to Australia. Birchwood trays like these are a staple in Sweden, and it's hard to find a well-curated homewares or gift shop there that doesn't carry at least one. We wanted to give Australian independent artists a distinctive format to work in, and bring that tradition here. They work as gifts, table styling pieces, or everyday home accessories, and sit well in gift shops, homewares stores, and anywhere with a design-conscious customer base.
