To-Go Zine is a LA-focused food zine. Just over one year ago, a city normally filled with winding drive-thru lines and fruteros honing their knives under multicolor umbrellas was smothered by wildfire smoke. Militaristic sweeps have followed apocalyptic burning skies, yet Angelenos have anchored themselves. With our first issue, Care Package, we ask: what roots Angelenos in LA? In a city characterized by grueling commutes and endless sprawl, how do people collectively cultivate their sense of home? When LA offers some of its finest meals on city sidewalks and in strip mall parking lots, how can these seemingly fleeting transactions build community?
