About Machu Picchu Energy

Machu Picchu is born out of a passion: to share the joy of living outdoors to the fullest. And also, out of a dream: to use that same energy to improve the lives of children in difficult situations. Bernardo Paiva, our founder, was born in Brazil. As a young kid in the streets of Rio de Janeiro, he learned from his parents, both teachers, the value of education and giving back to the community. As he grew up, his passion for outdoor did too. His love for surfing or just walking amidst the mountains, showed him the power of connecting with nature and how it could help him restore his emotional balance. "Nothing made me feel better than being out there, lining up in the sea, waiting for waves." Throughout the years, Bernardo’s successful professional career has given him the chance to collaborate with NGOs to improve the personal and economic outlook of the children in favelas. “I wanted to find a way to do my part and lend a hand to all those kids in need of a better education, a safer environment and better role models.” By founding Machu Picchu, Bernardo combines his experiences and two passions in order to create the best energizing beverages possible, share his joy for being outdoors and empower projects that help children worldwide.
