At WUAMAN, our journey began in June 2019, when Sandra and Edoardo set out to create a brand that honors our Peruvian heritage. Sandra, who comes from a long line of skilled artisans, inspired our mission to work with alpaca fiber—one of Peru’s most treasured resources—to craft products that celebrate the artistry and culture of our homeland. We collaborate with Sandra's family and 19 other artisan small businesses in Peru, producing small-batch, original designs using traditional techniques like hand embroidery, knitting, loom weaving, and crochet. Fair trade and sustainability are at the heart of everything we do. We ensure artisans are paid fairly, work in respectful conditions, and that our practices protect both the environment and the cultural heritage of alpaca fiber. Our name, WUAMAN, is a tribute—a variation of Sandra's maiden name—connecting us deeply to family and identity. Each product reflects the care, culture, and craftsmanship that started our journey.
