Our products are made in Scotland from 100% rope & fishing net collected by us. I started the business when i was working as a commercial diver, I felt sad at the volume of plastic I was finding in the sea and on our beaches. I couldn’t just walk by – I knew I had to do something. During the covid lockdown a cargo ship, carrying 2000T of waste plastic, ran aground in “The Minch” on the West Coast of Scotland and I was a diver as part of the salvage operation. The moment had finally come for me to do more and this inspired Ocean Plastic Pots. We started making small plant pots in my shed from beach plastic and from there the business has grown.
