Meet Gila and Nicole — the mother-daughter duo behind Pawp Water. Often known as the “crazy dog lady,” Gila brings decades of hands-on rescue experience, including fostering, running an in-home dog boarding business for over seven years, and helping rehome hundreds of dogs. She has spent her life learning what truly makes dogs happy and healthy. Gila is also the proud mom of her “foster fail,” Chloe — the dog who ultimately inspired Pawp. After an expensive vet visit revealed that Chloe needed probiotic and electrolyte support for chronic gut issues, Gila searched for solutions, but Chloe refused them all. Most products were flavored, messy, not water-soluble, or obvious in her bowl. Around the same time, Gila was diagnosed with Celiac disease, prompting her to focus on her own gut health. As she incorporated simple daily wellness drinks into her routine, she realized that convenient, functional hydration existed for humans — but not for pets. That insight became the foundation for Pawp Water: a brand built on science, compassion, and lived experience. Nicole, with a background in public relations and brand strategy, brings the storytelling and execution needed to turn that vision into reality. Having worked across beauty, wellness, fashion, and lifestyle, she recognized the opportunity immediately. Today, Nicole leads Pawp’s brand, communications, and growth — helping bring human-level wellness to dogs everywhere.Read their story
