BitOGenius was founded by a husband and wife team, Martin and Alysha Horstman, with the goal of creating toys and games that would foster curiosity, creativity and self confidence. As a gamer Martin understands the reach and power that games can have. And as a former Visual art teacher for 12 years, Alysha noticed that it was becoming increasingly difficult to engage kids in creative thinking. Students wanted to find the ‘one’ right answer, and they wanted to get that answer the quickest way possible. When we compare it to the instant gratification and easy knowledge we all have at our fingertips in our phones and devices, it’s not hard to understand where this struggle is coming from. Pixicade’s innovative technology works by assigning precoded game attributes and actions to a set of colors. This means that a game is made just by drawing an image on paper or arranging a scene on a white background. The primary mission of our Company is to engage kids in creative thinking and tap into their imagination.
