About Kreative Knits by Liona Jollota

Kreative Knits by Liona Jollota aims to reduce the textile waste clogging our landfills. Instead of chasing trends, we utilize enduring styles with layering options and create classic and versatile pieces which encourage customers to invest in garments that they keep for a lifetime. I'm Liona and it all began when grandmother taught me to knit garter stitch when I was only three years old. I was designing clothing for my dolls by the time I was six and designing clothing to sell by the time I was 15. I majored in computer science and math and then worked in actuarial science and IT for 27 years but always kept my knitting business on the side. During those years I was part of the fast fashion problem. I purchased far more than I wore and donated most of it so that most of my clothes undoubtedly ended up in a landfill. I became bored with my IT projejct management career at the same time I became aware of the magnitude of the fast fashion problem. This prompted me to quit my job and take Kreative Knits to a whole new level.Read their story
