About Desert Light Co.

Hi, I'm Sarah the owner and creative operator behind the brand! I started Desert Light Co. in New Mexico in 2020 as a brand that celebrates the resilience and beauty of the desert and its communities through art. But, I have been an artist my entire life. After developing a chronic illness in 2014 I started using art to cope with and understand my new lived experience. By 2017 I had to all but completely give up on my art to focus entirely on my health and graduating college. In 2020 after improving very slowly, completing my degree in Creative Media, and settling into my new life, I picked up a pencil again - then a paint brush and a drawing tablet. Since then Desert Light Co. has expanded to offer a diverse range of products that bring joy and hopefully some whimsy to peoples lives. My greatest hope is that I make products that people connect with. From whimsical bookish items to empowering feminist quotes, along with original desert designs, Desert Light Co. will bring a touch of pizzazz and positivity to you!Read their story
