Meet Dio Node: the minimalist and privacy-forward Wi-Fi speaker that makes multi-room audio simple. In an era where home technology is becoming increasingly invasive and complex, Dio was founded on a simple belief: home audio should be a simple, private experience that's accessible by all. While major tech giants build smart speakers that are "always listening" and locked into closed ecosystems, we built Dio to put humans, not data collection, at the center of the listening experience. Our journey began in 2017 when our founder, Akarsh Vinod—a musician, engineer, and tech product expert—became frustrated with the unnecessarily complex and highly invasive options for modern home audio. After a career in Big Tech building smart home products, VR headsets, and smart glasses, Akarsh set out to build a "simple and private" alternative to today's smart speakers. We launched Dio Node in 2023 as an official Apple accessory partner, allowing us to build one of the world’s most affordable and intuitive AirPlay-enabled speakers.
