Bugs Off was born out of a need for a natural alternative to harsh insect repellents. In 2017, we moved to tropical north Queensland, fulfilling a lifelong dream of living in a warm, vibrant, and outdoor-focused environment. However, we were plagued by relentless midgies (sandflies) that left painful welts and unbearable itchiness. Frustrated by the limited options, I refused to resort to chemical repellents, given my lifelong experience in crafting natural beauty products. Determined to find a solution, I embarked on a journey to create Bugs Off, a family-friendly line of natural repellents blending proven Australian native essential oils with pure plant extracts. From humble beginnings selling at local markets, we've expanded our reach to day care centers, supermarkets, spas, resorts, and more. I n 2023, we rebranded BUGS OFF and introduced new products, including pet wash, surface spray, and tick and fly repellents. With a growing awareness of the harmful effects of chemicals like DEET and solid scientific backing for our ingredients, we proudly lead the way as Australia's best natural repellent, meeting the demands of customers seeking effective, natural alternatives.Read their story
