About Mayumi-Ko

MAYUMI-KO (my-oo-me koh) "Mayumi" is my mother's Japanese name and "Ko" is a part of both of my grandmothers' names. All three of them have had such an impact on my life. --- My name is Kaitlyn and I'm a digital marketer by day that needed a little something more to add some balance into my life. I started Mayumi-Ko as a creative outlet but also to share what makes me happy with other people. I first started creating my own prints for my apartment right after I graduated from college. I was earning an entry-level salary and living in San Francisco aka didn't have a lot of money. So I went to Target, got some poster board, paint, and made my own prints. Fast forward three years and here I am! Born and raised in Southern California, I've slowly made my way back down the coast from Northern California to good ol' Long Beach. As you'll notice, the ocean holds a lot of meaning for me and has a large influence on my style and what I create. I hope you enjoy! xx KaitlynRead their story
