About Little Soleil

As a mother of three young children living in Queensland, water safety has always been a top priority for our family. Like many parents, we enrolled our children in swimming lessons to ensure they learned to swim confidently and safely. However, we noticed a recurring issue—our children would make significant progress in their lessons, only to regress between classes. During lessons, instructors would support them at the waist, helping them learn to kick and use their arms effectively. But when we took them swimming on our own, we relied on bulky flotation devices that restricted their movement, allowing them to float passively without engaging their muscles or developing proper swimming techniques. This inconsistency was holding them back, and despite searching for better solutions, I couldn’t find swimwear that provided the right balance of support and freedom. That’s when the idea for Little Soleil was born. Inspired by my own experiences and frustration, I created swimwear that mirrors the support children receive during lessons—encouraging them to move naturally in the water while staying safe. Little Soleil was created to give parents the peace of mind that their children are supported as they learn to swim, without compromising on the development of essential water skills.
