About Kin+Pod Chocolate Incorporated

Kin + Pod grew from one woman’s passion for chocolate and change. Inspired by her experience in fine pastry and the restaurant industry, our founder set out to right some of the wrongs she saw in the cocoa industry — child slavery, overuse of palm oil and deforestation to name just a few. Ethical sourcing is the cornerstone of our business. We work 1-on-1 with small-holder cacao farmers and their families to source the richest cacao beans from across the globe. In exchange, our farmers are fairly compensated, which enables them to pay their employees higher wages and choose more sustainable farming practices. Ethical sourcing also means that we carefully assess safety standards, and the environmental impact of the way our cacao pods are grown, harvested and shipped before partnering with a farm. Above all, ethical sourcing means empowering a community to grow and build lasting connections.
