About Sabia Ceramics

Sabia Ceramics originated in 2020 at the height of the pandemic off the central coast of California. Now in Charleston, South Carolina my works are all one of a kind mid-fire, stoneware pieces produced in my home studio in James Island. Clay offered me an opportunity to explore my relationship to design, color, and a way to stay connected to those I loved by making them custom everyday functional wares with an awareness that these pieces will become future fossils some day. My maximalist tendencies, nostalgia for the Deco architecture I was surrounded by in my home town of Miami and my ever growing love, curiosity and respect for ceramics continue to evolve with each piece.
