“Domaine Piallat is not the culmination of an entire generational line, but a family tribute. Starting from the simple farm of my great-grandparents, I wanted to do in a generation what my ancestors could not achieve themselves. It was at the dawn of my majority that I embarked on this adventure, an adventure that came to fruition years later, in 2003, with my wife Laure. If you know the tale of the chicken with golden eggs, you will soon know this land that tells a very real myth about black diamonds growing at the roots of trees. It was the truffle that gave me the name of our wines in the language of my ancestors, Latin for our first two reds, my Melano and the Aestivum, but also in the language of my childhood, Provençal, for our prestigious cuvée La Rabasse; It is the truffle... my muse! It is therefore on this terroir, which follows the reliefs of its hills and plateaus, that I meet vines with grape varieties that are as diverse as they are unique and that I work the land in symbiosis with this nature, which remains wild while allowing itself to be tamed. I have fulfilled the dream of several generations who allowed themselves to be carried away by time. My only hope is that this achievement inspires the respect I give and receive from nature and that it can continue to be shared generously, as people like to do in my home region.
