IMMODEST COTTON was founded on the belief that bags should be both beautiful and built to last. Our designs balance color, function and durability—pieces meant to move through life with you, each day. Our process is intentional: small-batch production, less waste, and timeless materials. We work with custom-dyed canvases, vegetable-tanned leathers and solid hardware - materials that don’t just hold up, but grow richer over time. The patina is a collaboration between you and your bag, telling a story that’s uniquely yours. From our studio in Maine to trusted makers in the U.S. and India, every bag is crafted with care. We’re a small team who loves what we do, and we hope our bags bring a sense of joy, ease, and longevity to your everyday life. FOUNDER & DESIGNER Shira Entis is the founder and designer behind IMMODEST COTTON. With a B.A. in Visual Art from Brown University and an M.A. in Fashion Design from SCAD, she draws on years of experience in New York City’s women’s fashion and accessories industry to create handbags that are timeless, vibrant, and crafted to last. Her work reflects a commitment to sustainability, intentional craftsmanship, and ethical production, blending joyful design with everyday functionality.
