About Sarep + Rose

Sarep + Rose combines traditional handwoven textiles and leatherwork with contemporary design, lovingly handmade across the African continent. We design a range of leather accessories ranging from backpacks, handbags, sandals and wallets to build manufacturing-level platforms for artisanal traditions to thrive. I founded Sarep + Rose after feeling frustrated with years of seeing so many quality artisanal African goods lay dormant for long periods of time. I decided that in whatever little way that I could, I would help to change that. I design nearly all items and source all the textiles from local marketwomen. I then work with the artisanal leathersmiths who to bring my designs to production. We currently work with artisanal groups in 3 different countries and will be including more by the end of 2019. I design leather accessories that integrate traditional African textiles, which is really important to me not just aesthetically, but also as it relates to my identity.Read their story
