When my son was 16 years old, I thought it would be a great idea to go on a mission trip to Brazil with him to install water filters and maybe make him a more well-rounded person, so I watched a youtube video and learned how to make bath bombs to help pay our part. It took around a year of perfecting my recipe, but I finally created a recipe that I loved and it was super fun! I waited and waited for the church to come up with the funds, etcetera, but in the meantime, my little fundraiser idea grew and grew. I was fascinated by soap, but I had my hands full with bath bombs and honestly I was a little afraid to delve into soap. The lye scared me and it was like soapers were speaking another language with lots of acronyms and percentages and calculations. Still, I studied and researched and read everything I could get my hands on. Finally, I decided one day that I was going to go for it. I was pretty much done with bath bombs that day. I still have a bar from that first loaf! The mission trip never came through, but instead I discovered a way to express my creativity and be challenged. I feel good about knowing what is in the products that we use on our skin. Science still has a long way to go in determining which ingredients are safe for use on our skin. I have carefully crafted our recipe(s) with quality ingredients from reputable suppliers and keep it pretty simple. We hope you enjoy our soap as much as we do!Read their story
