About Cuqui

MAGDA GENESTAR PAINTER “One day a very special doll fell into my hands, a rag doll. I started painting this doll in my paintings when no one did it because for me it was the daughter I never had. In my studio, many times, I hugged that doll as if it were my child. Cuqui is tenderness, affection, love, because this doll was able to give all that to a mother who had never had her daughter. I have changed houses several times, my life has changed a lot, but the wrists were always by my side. For two years I lived alone and Cuqui was always in my living room. The wrist filled a void and was part of my life. I had spoken to her many times when she had problems; I used to call her “Cuca” or “my treasure”. Now it's back in my studio, which is, in fact, the corner where I feel most comfortable.”Read their story
