About Ward Trading Card Game

Ward began in a small family cabin in northern Minnesota. Created by brothers Joe and Tom Casey as a way to pass time during rainy summer days, Ward started as a homemade card game shared among family and friends. What began as a simple passion project quickly grew into something much bigger. Players kept coming back, local demand increased, and before long Ward had evolved into a fully published trading card game. Unlike many modern tabletop games, Ward wasn't launched through Kickstarter. It wasn't backed by investors, large publishers, celebrity influencers, or venture capital. Every step of the journey was funded personally by the Casey brothers, who invested their own time, money, and countless hours into building the game from the ground up. Through persistence, grassroots growth, and a belief that great gameplay speaks for itself, Ward has grown into a nationally recognized brand. Today, Ward is one of the fastest-growing independent trading card games in North America. The game is distributed through GTS Distribution and XYAB Distribution and has partnered with Asmodee, one of the largest tabletop gaming companies in the world. Through this partnership, the Ward team travels across North America showcasing the game at major conventions, events, and retail locations, introducing thousands of new players to the world of Ward.
