SOLOKO is a Germany-based brand of high-quality handmade textiles, home decor, and lifestyle accessories that combine Ghanaian craftsmanship with European design. Each item in the collection of home accents, from the glass beaded table mats to the woven bags and baskets, is handcrafted by experienced artisans, blending authentic tradition with contemporary aesthetics. Our mission is to keep the traditions and values of Ghanaian craftsmanship alive and make them visible to the global market. As part of these efforts, we own and operate our own weaving center and workshop in the rural Volta region of Ghana, where we provide fair wages, social benefits, and safe working conditions for the team of artisan craftspeople who create our handwoven textiles. Now, our collection of handmade textiles includes table runners, napkins, blankets, table linens, cushions, and placemats, many using the traditional Kente weaving method. Throughout production, we aim to remain sustainable through the use of responsible materials such as recycled glass and elephant grass. We are directly involved in every step of the production process, from design and material selection to ensuring the highest quality finished product. We collaborate with local artisans, like Michael Tetteh - the only glassblower in West Africa - to create our unique glassware including recycled tumblers, vases, and carafes. We also work with a cooperative in the Bolgatanga region of Ghana for our handwoven baskets.Read their story
