The idea for StrapsAway™ was born the moment I went to place my newborn into his car seat to bring him home from the hospital. As I went to set my delicate baby down, I held him in one arm, and with my other hand I tried moving the pokey buckles and straps out of the way. However, they kept falling into the seat! Frustrated, I thought, “There must be something to keep these straps out of the way!” Fast forward 4 years, I now had 3 three little boys all in car seats. After years of stuggles with buckling—including digging for tangled straps while toddlers wriggled and planked—I still faced the same difficulty. One evening, when leaving my parents house, I tried to lay my sleeping baby in his car seat without waking him. Frustrated again, I looked at my mom and said, “If I had time, I’d make something to keep these buckles out of the way!” My incredible mom, who raised nine kids herself, understood the struggle. That very night, she showed up at my door with the first StrapsAway™ prototype. Sitting together on my kitchen floor, we refined the design to be simple, stylish, and functional. After countless more late-night collaborations, we’re the proud owners of a patent, and are thrilled share our magnetic car seat strap holders with you. StrapsAway™ is a mother-daughter business. Our products are handmade/manufactured in Alberta, Canada, and comply with all Transport Canada car seat guidelines. They exceed the size set by Health and Safety Canada for choking hazard safety.Read their story
