The story of La Combe de Job begins in 1979 in Corrèze. In the small village of Juillac located on the borders of the Black Périgord, the hamlet of La Combe de Job was home to the farm of Claudine and Jean-Marc Gilliocq. At that time, they were rearing and force-feeding geese. They processed and made their preserves directly on the farm. In 1985, La Combe de Job was reorganized. Its founders decided to stop the activity of breeder to devote themselves entirely to the profession of canner craftsmen. The raw materials are selected and purchased from local breeders near the Objat slaughterhouse, in Corrèze. In a 1,000 m² building, La Combe de Job cannery was born in Objat. Five years later, in 1990, La Combe de Job opened a shop in Brive-la-Gaillarde, at 11 boulevard Maréchal Lyautey. Right next to the famous Denoix Distillery, it is a prime location to showcase products made at the cannery. The store also sells delicatessen products chosen from local suppliers and recognized of high quality. Most of them are located in the Southwest. Since its creation, La Combe de Job has been an artisanal, family-run business on a human scale.
