About The Salty Cottage

Hello I'm Holly - wearer all of the hats here at The Salty Cottage...Designer, Owner, Maker, and everything in-between. My line of designer applique pillows started as a creative outlet in my mudroom sewing nook back in 2012 - a balancing act of raising kids while running a small creative business that utilized my experience in business, interior design, sales, textiles and art. Slowly and organically, The Salty Cottage has evolved into a team of fellow moms meticulously producing pillows in cottage-sized runs, supplying to boutique shops and several large retailers all around the country. Most patterns start as a hand drawn sketch, which we then translate into a digital format that is laser cut, hand pieced and contrast stitched in place. Being on the North Shore of Boston, most designs are inspired by all that embodies the New England lifestyle, which easily resonates in most every region: hiking, skiing, mountains, sports, lake and seaside activities.
