I am the originator of modern carved bone feather jewelry since 1986. While carving a cottonwood bust for a local trading post near Estes Park Colorado that year, I found myself thinking of adding a separate carved feather to it when it struck me to make feathers from bone as it was a medium I was familiar with. With the encouragement of some family members I gave it a try and it turned into a life long jewelry making career. After nearly 40 years, I have used the carved bone feathers in conjunction with my fine art paintings and sculptures as well. I continue to work in many art mediums as well as digital art that is used for my apparel items. I have been honored to work with the non-profit Southwest Indian Foundation for nearly 20 years and it is important to me to donate a portion of all my earnings to multiple Native American Organizations.Read their story
