She grew up in Greenwich Village NYC and now lives in Brooklyn with her husband...their two daughters are grown and happily live nearby! Her roots are in fine arts; watercolor painting is her preferred medium. She fell into the field of retail buying early and stayed until her girls were born. The transition to design jewelry from painting and retailing was surprisingly easy. a.v. max was born with a booth at a trade show 20+ years ago, and continues to grow and thrive in the new retail economy. Amy designs and her team of artisans handcraft every piece of jewelry in her Brooklyn workshop. They all take great pride in their quality Made in USA product. As a native New Yorker, fashion has always played an important roll in Amy's aesthetic. She brings her love of color to the mix, designing with an eye on the trends but always makes every piece beautiful, wearable, and, salable! A note about mark-up: we don't set an MSRP. On our retail site we use a 2.5 x mark up, but on Faire we just put a 2x, but you are welcome to use whatever mark up you think is right for your store and your customers!! We no longer sell to any department stores or chain stores so your won't be undersold by another store. Our goods are very fairly priced and many of our stores mark them up higher than 2.5x.
