Sweet Jama Trading Co is a family-owned, artisan handmade soap shop that started by the beach in Westerly, RI. Every product is handcrafted in small batches using the finest organic & vegan ingredients. We believe in the saying, "soap is to the body what laughter is to the soul" and devise all our bath products to nourish your skin and lift up your spirits using bright, effervescent & healing essential oils. Our story begins on a mission to find a natural & preservative-free balm that was gentle enough to be used on children's faces. Jackson, the founder's 11 yo son, had recurring eczema on his eyelid. After trying nearly every eczema product on the market, his mom decided to concoct her own balm made from organic butters & oils. Growing up in a Korean family, she knew of the super antioxidant, skin-balancing & healing power of Red Ginseng - and infused it into the balm. It was amazing to see the difference in just a few days. Friends asked to buy the balm, and she started selling it at craft fairs. Customers raved & it quickly became a bestseller. She also started making vegan cold-processed soap cupcakes with the design help of her 9 yo daughter Maddie. Sweet Jama, named after her kids Jackson (=Ja) and Maddie (=Ma), was borne! Today the shop offers a vast array of cold-processed soaps & soap cupcakes, body butters, body scrubs + bath bombs. All of our products are infused with our signature star Korean Red Ginseng.
