About Alison Gardiner US

Alison Gardiner is a celebrated British illustrator known for her timeless, heritage-inspired designs. Based on the south coast of England, she draws inspiration from historic architecture, creating collections for prestigious clients such as Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, The National Trust, and Shakespeare’s Birthplace. Her distinctive style, deeply rooted in English tradition, reflects her passion for history and design. She collaborates with museums, palaces, cathedrals, and stately homes across the UK to bring historical landmarks to life through her artwork. Alison began her career in printed textiles before transitioning to greeting cards, children’s books, and magazines. Her work in ceramics took off through a collaboration with The National Trust, designing collections for over fifty of their properties. Much of Alison’s work is bespoke, created to fit specific briefs, but she loves adding a unique, whimsical touch to her designs. She emphasizes the importance of color, seeing her art as a form of surface pattern design. One of the highlights of her career was working with The Royal Collection and later designing an advent calendar and candles for Highgrove, then the family home of the Prince of Wales. A special moment came when she learned that Prince William had purchased one of her advent calendars—one in which he himself was featured!
