About Nicole Aquillano
Nicole took an unconventional path to become a studio potter. After pursuing a career in engineering, she left to follow her passion and earn her MFA. Since then, she has developed a successful ceramics line which she sells across the country. Nicole etches each image by hand into the porcelain clay and inlays a dark underglaze. The high temperature of the kiln blurs the drawing, much like a faded memory. Each piece is one-of-a-kind; mix and match images to create a uniquely personal narrative.

Nicole has been wonderful to work with! And your products are consistent, beautiful and bring a lot of joy to our store customers. So happy she offers wholesale with options for customs! We've had some larger custom requests for our gift baskets and she has communicated so clearly when they would be done, cost and sent test tiles for us to approve on the custom design!

I paid Nicole to create a custom design for me to use with the ceramic pieces she offers. The ceramics sold well. However, without warning, Nicole raised her prices by 50-67% after the new year. Since I had already paid the custom design fee, I had no choice but to continue ordering from her. The latest order I received had two unsellable vases. I shipped them back, and they were refunded. However, I can no longer buy from this shop due to the prices, lack of communication, and poor quality.

I am glad the pieces have sold well, but so sorry you’re unhappy with your experience! Each piece is individually hand-etched into the clay with a knife by my hand alone. In your past 8 orders I have remade two pieces to satisfy your desire for them to look more alike, and refunded two custom pieces that you did not like, no questions asked.
