Schoepp Seeds: Sun, seed, earth, water. That’s it! Wisconsin folk musician Trapper Schoepp is bringing garden seed packets to a new generation of gardeners and artists alike. Simple and stylish, Trapper's packets are a collaboration with New York's legendary Bentley Seeds, a leading supplier of freshcrop seeds since 1975. A descendant to the king of Sweden’s gardener Olof Johnson, 35-year-old Trapper is a natural born gardener and storyteller. The world touring musician is the youngest songwriter to have a co-write with Bob Dylan through their song “On, Wisconsin,” a homespun tune that cuts across 60 years of folk music tradition. As with his music, his DIY seed company traces back to a previous generation via his collaboration with Bentley Seeds. The upstate New York company was founded by music lovers in 1975 and their seeds have been loved by gardeners nationwide since. Schoepp Seeds are freshcrop, heirloom and GMO free seeds that were first released in conjunction with Schoepp's 2021 album, May Day. Agriculture has long been a centerpiece of pagan ‘May Day’ traditions. Many hoped that by observing the holiday, they could ensure that their crops were fruitful over the summer. Born on May Day, Trapper believes in these traditions and that Schoepp Seeds can help bring garden seeds to new spaces like concerts, record stores and coffee shops. The packets include simple planting instructions, as well as a QR code that directs you to Trapper's music. Dig it!
